Turning the light on cellulite

Light Therapy Systems (LTS) manufactures a line of patented equipment and products that utilise a revolutionary, NASA-researched technology: light-emitting diode (LED) light therapy.

Its products use LED, ultraviolet and infrared light technology, built with Philips Luxeon K2 LEDs, the most robust and powerful LEDs available.

The company’s line of commercial phototherapy equipment includes solutions for a variety of health and medical applications for the health, beauty, and medical industries.

One of these is the Skin-Smoothing Cellulite Treatment, cellulite referring to fat deposits under the skin, often characterised by a dimpled or orange-peel appearance.

Poor diet, stress, lack of exercise, hereditary factors, and hormones seem to play a factor in whether or not people develop cellulite.

The LTS solution sees powerful light emitting diodes generating narrow band red and infrared light measuring at 660nm and 1450nm. Three separate arrays of LEDs are designed to treat the two areas of the skin most frequently affected by cellulite - the thighs and the buttocks.

Incorporating a white cosmetology chair, the typical measurements of the system are 34in W X 70in L X 62in H (with the chair adjusted normally). It requires a standard wall outlet for power and has a recommended minimum room size of 4.5ft X 6.5ft.

The company recommends 20 minute sessions, one session per week for six weeks and thereafter once a month or depending on the severity of the condition.
